"Beginning with Wolfgang Pauli, theoretical physicists often believed that there are essential similarities between the physical world and the psyche. Indeed, the insights gained from studying the physical world have enriched psychology and neuroscience. In support of the above idea, the book discusses the relationship of quantum mechanics, general relativity, and other branches of physics to evolution, human behavior and mental phenomena. How can evolution increase physical, chemical, and biological organization? Cosmic evolution started with star formation and was followed by chemical evolution. Biological evolution increases genetic organization, ultimately giving rise to intellect, which becomes the foundation of society. Social evolution is a new phase of increasing complexity.
